4 months

Colson is 4 months old! He is so much fun! This week was rough for us. It was my third week back to work and all of us were sick! Being sick is awful. Being sick while taking care of a sick child sucks! He's better today and I love seeing his sweet, smiley face today!

Cole has been laughing and seeking social interaction. He got his 4 month shots this week. He was 18 pounds, 5.5oz and 26 inches! Wow! He is huge!

We have been given the go ahead to start rice cereal. I have always said I would wait for 6 months, but Cole is so interested in food right now. He will watch my fork from plate to mouth! He opens his mouth and acts like he wants to eat! It's cute. We will try cereal and see how it goes.

We had our first road trip last week for Easter. Cole did pretty good, but he hates his carseat for long trips! It's hard watching him be so miserable, but I am so glad I get to hear him cry--- silly as that sounds. I am so thankful for every moment I get to see him grow!

March (April) Madness

If you know the Gerlach's, you know that we're crazy about basketball. I love watching college ball especially around tournament time. We belong to a house divided, though. Brent is crazy about Kentucky basketball and I grew up loving Kansas. I do believe Brent loves basketball more than me, though!

March has gone by quickly! It's my last full month of maternity leave. I return to work on April 11th--- something I really try not to think about. It's amazing how much I can love this needy little person. I would give anything to be able to stay home with him, but that's just not possible at this point.

Colson has come alive in the last month! It's amazing to watch him grow. I don't know if other mom's see every opportunity for learning or not, but I'm already teaching him names of things and colors. I know he doesn't retain it, but I teach it nonetheless!

Life really changes when you have a kid. I haven't had a full night of sleep since.... well, I can't remember. I was having trouble sleeping the last few months being pregnant.... maybe it's been a year now since I've slept all night.
